My name is Marquese Kwame Averett, but most people know me as “Skinny.”
I’m an organizer by training and an activist by passion, and I’ve spent my entire life amplifying the voices of people who are too often ignored, overlooked, or pushed to the margins.

Attract Development
that creates stable, living-wage jobs for Columbus residents. No one working full-time should struggle to make ends meet. Economic growth must raise people up, not leave them behind.
I Will push for smart public safety solutions
that address the root causes of crime, invest in prevention, and build trust between residents and law enforcement. Keeping our communities safe starts with keeping our young people supported and engaged.
I will fight for equitable investment
in every neighborhood. Opportunity should not stop at Macon Road. Strong infrastructure, quality services, and economic opportunity must reach all parts of our city, not just a few.
I believe government should be open, honest, and accountable
to the people it serves. Residents deserve clear information, ethical leadership, and decision-making that puts the public interest first every time.
